If your child is in Year 1 and Year 2, please complete one of the prefix and suffix activity sheets (attached with each year group) as well as continuing to practise the common exception words. For all Key Stage 2 children, please start to learn your new Summer 2 spellings which are all on the Term 3B document (attached below with each year group). Remember to revise previous spellings (Term 1A, 1B, 2A, 2B and 3A). It would be great if you could also do a Friday spelling test like we normally do in school containing five new words and five old words. Don't forget to also work on Year 3 and 4/ 5 and 6 Statutory Spellings please. Please also send in any photos of the spelling practice you have carried out so we can display it on this page.
Each week, we will give an idea for how your child could learn his/ her spellings each week. Here is this week's idea:
* This week is week seven of Term 3b *
Depending on your Year group, you may have new spellings, an 'assess and review' week or you may not have a week 7!
Normally, we'd have a Spelling Bee at school to test you on all of the spellings from this half term - and maybe some from previous terms as well! Feel free to create your own Spelling Bee at home - you're bound to win ; ) - or simply pick your favourite practise activity from the list below and practise the ones you found tricky over the last few weeks.
If you do complete a Spelling Bee at home, why don't you print out the limited edition certificate!
Below is a list of other ideas to practise your spellings over the weeks. Also, don't forget https://www.spellzone.com/ This website has a range of online games and printable resources. Go to 'word lists' at the top of the page and then in the 'find a word list' section search for the spelling pattern you would like to practise.
